An interlacing Celtic Knot design features on the trim – the Celtic Knot is an instantly recognisable design, synonymous with Scottish art through generations. The carved handle has a woven criss-cross design and the handles end is topped by a silver cap.

The word Sgian Dubh has its origins in the Scots Gaelic for ‘Hidden Blade’ – which is what is was used as centuries ago. Carried by Highlanders, it was often concealed under the arm or down the sock and brought out to surprise an opponent!

Sgian Dubhs are worn down the sock on the same side as your writing hand. The hilt is the only part visible above the top of the sock.
