This Day Sgian Dubh has an Interlinking Celtic Knot handle with a Scottish Thistle Emblem embedded in the handle. The thistle has long been a symbol of Scotland and is often referred to as the Flower Emblem of Scotland. Sgian Dubh means ‘hidden/black blade’ in Scots Gaelic, and they were used as secret weapons over the centuries. When meeting a rival the blade would be hidden in the sock or under the arm, and only produced when things turned ugly! Day Sgian Dubhs as less formal and should be worn to day events or casual occasions. 3.5" Stainless Steel blade with Real Leather Sheath. Handle options available: Faux Ivory, Silver finish or Wood. Supplied in a presentation box. Made in Scotland.
