This practical Dress Sgian Dubh has a traditional Scottish Thistle design etched into the pewter trim. The moulded plastic handle has a woven pattern which enhances the grip. The blade has been replaced by a bottle opener, giving a handy use to your ornamental blade!
Sgian Dubhs have a long and bloody history, having been used as weapons for sneak attacks by hiding under the arm or down the sock. This tradition of keeping the Sgian Dubh down the sock is kept up today.
Dress Sgian Dubhs match best with Dress or Semi-Dress sporrans and formal jackets. They should be worn to formal occasions.
