The Thistle has long been associated with Scotland, and has been the nations ‘Flower Emblem’ for many centuries. This Dress Sgian Dubh has a modern Thistle design etched on the pewter trim. A criss-cross pattern adorns the handle, adding to the grip. A pewter cap with a Celtic Knot design tops the hilt.
Sgian Dubhs have a long and bloody history, having been used as weapons for sneak attacks by hiding under the arm or down the sock. This tradition of keeping the Sgian Dubh down the sock is kept up today.
Dress Sgian Dubhs match best with Dress or Semi-Dress sporrans and formal jackets. They should be worn to formal occasions.
