A deluxe Dress Sgian Dubh, it has many fine details to draw attention to the wearer! The pewter trim is fashioned into a Celtic Knot design – a design synonymous with ancient Scotland! The handle is carved into the shape of a Scottish Thistle and is topped by a pewter cap.
The Sgian Dubh (sometimes spelt ‘skean dbu’) is a traditional Scottish knife, carried by Highlanders through the ages to cut food and material. It was also used as a concealed weapon against enemies, hiding the blade under the arm or down the sock. In modern Kilt Outfits, it is stored in the sock with the handle showing, and only used for decorative purposes!
