A Day Sgian Dubh with a charmingly crafted Stag Horn handle. The horn handle is capped with a black wood upon which a Shiny Scottish Thistle Emblem is mounted.

The Thistle has long been linked with Scotland, quite literally having its roots in the nation’s history! It can be found growing widespread across the highland terrain and has been the ‘Flower Emblem’ of Scotland for many centuries.

Sgian Dubhs are traditionally small double-edged knifes that were used for cutting food and material. They were also hidden for protection or to ambush an enemy. They were stored under the arm or down the sock to keep them concealed.

Day Sgian Dubhs are best suited to less formal occasions or day events. They offer a more casual look so work well when worn to Highland Games, Outdoor weddings or Garden Parties.

The Stag Horn used in this item is harvested from antlers that have been shed by the Stag, ensuring that no animal is harmed in its collection.
