Sporrans come in three styles: Day, Semi-Dress and Dress. Day sporrans should be worn to informal functions and day events. Dress sporrans are suitable for formal occasions. Semi-Dress sporrans can be both dressed up or down to suit the event, but should not be worn to Black Tie dinners (A Dress Sporran is suitable here).
Sporrans were originally worn to carry rations of food, trinkets and powder horns. Modern sporrans are used to carry items such as mobile phones, keys and wallets!
