A sporran is a leather or fur pouch which is worn on the front of a gent’s kilt. The word is derived from Gaelic for purse. The sporran is a pouch used as a decorative part of Highland dress but it was originally used as a practical item for everyday use.
Day Sporrans are generally less ornate, usually simple brown or black leather pouches with little embellishments. They match very well with Tweed Jackets, but also combine with less formal jackets. Alternatively, it can be worn with a pullover, shirt or other casual attire.
Day Sporrans are worn to Day and causal events, such as Highland Games, Garden Parties and informal gatherings, but can also be worn to outdoor Weddings, Ceilidhs etc.
