Hand Ties (also known as Hand fastenings) are pieces of cloth, often Tartan, that are draped or wrapped around the couple who are getting marrieds hands during the ceremony. It has been a long Scottish tradition which has gained significant popularity in recent years!
Hand Ties are generally 5-foot-long and 2" or 3" wide, and two hand ties can be sewn together. Usually tartans from the Groom and Brides ancestry is used, but any tartan can be chosen!
