A Day Sgian Dubh with a magnificently crafted Stag Horn handle. The horn handle is capped with a brown wood upon which a Shiny Stag Emblem is mounted.
Deer are one of the animals most closely associated with the nation of Scotland. Two types of Deer are native to Scotland and they can often be seen majestically roaming in the valleys and glens!
Sgian Dubhs were used by Highlanders to cut material and food. The name is derived from the Scots Gaelic for ‘Hidden Blade’. They were concealed under the arm or in the sock to be brought out for a surprise attack!
Day Sgian Dubhs are less formal than their Dress counterparts, and are best suited to be worn at informal or day events. They match well with a range of jackets, especially Tweeds.
The Stag Horn used in this item is harvested from antlers that have been shed by the Stag, ensuring that no animal is harmed in its collection.
