The Scottish Thistle has long been recognized as the Flower of Scotland, with reference to this dating back as early as the 13th century. This Kilt Pin has a Scottish Thistle mounted atop a Celtic Knot Pin.
Your Kilt Pin is clipped in the bottom corner of the front apron of your Kilt. It does not pin your front and back aprons together as is sometime thought. It is used to hold down your front apron to make sure your Kilt does not flap about on windy days.
